Armitage’s numerous awards include the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry and an Ivor Novello for song-writing in the BAFTA-winning film Feltham Sings. He has published over a dozen collections of poetry including his latest collection, Magnetic Field, which gathers together his poems on Marsden, the Yorkshire village where he grew up and began life as a writer.
Armitage is author of two novels and three non-fictionbestsellers: All Points North, Walking Homeand Walking Away.His acclaimed translation of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight has sold over 100,000 copies. Armitage performs with the band LYR and also writes extensively for television and radio, most recently BBC 2’s A Pandemic Poem and BBC Radio 4’s seriesThe Poet Laureate has Gone to his Shed.
