New York Brass Band are North Yorkshire’s only contemporary New Orleans inspired Brass Band.
Hailing from the ancient streets of York the band are at the forefront of a funky brass revolution that is sweeping the UK. Inspired by Rebirth Brass Band, Soul Rebels, Hot 8, Youngblood and Brassroots, NYBB pack a powerful punch of relentless drums, rumbling tuba and wailing horns… nothing kicks a party into gear like the sound of a smokin’ New Orleans Mardi Gras Jazz Band
The band has played at some of the best festivals and events in the world. It has appeared at celebrity weddings and played for royalty. Every year they pound the train tracks at Glasto to appear all over the festival, and regularly play Cork Jazz Festival, Durham Brass, Latitude and Boomtown. They have entertained Danny Jones, Kylie Minogue, Jamie Oliver, Ellie Goulding and Liam Gallagher. Their corporate clients include Manchester City FC, Yorkshire Tea, Centre Parcs, Brewdog, Harvey Nichols, DHL, Chatsworth House, ASDA and the NFL! They say “If we didn’t literally blow our own trumpet, who else is gonna do it?” !
